As NBA’s San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich prepares to face the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, he took an opportunity to take a jab at President Donald Trump.
“I feel like there is a cloud, a pall over the whole country in a paranoid, surreal sort of way that’s got nothing to do with the Democrats losing the election,” the 68-year-old Popovich said.
“It’s got to do with the way one individual conducts himself,” he continued without mentioning Trump’s name, but he was clearly talking about the president.
His comments came in the wake of the surprise firing of FBI Director James Comey, who was overseeing the investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in last year’s presidential election.
Additionally, the five-time NBA champion coach said Trump is narcissistic that he handles his job “like a game show,” and his agenda to help the American people are a “ruse.”
Popovich, who donated $5,000 to Barack Obama’s reelection in 2012, previously compared Trump’s temporary travel ban against citizens of majority Muslim countries to the “Keystone Cops.”
Popovich’s Spurs lost to the Warriors in the series opener 113-111 before suffering a 136-100 blowout loss in Game 2.
100% Fed Up reports:
In the realm of the NBA, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has been one of Donald Trump’s most vocal critics. He continued his cluelessness in the video below. He obviously is watching too much CNN OR MSNBC because he uses some of the same buzzwords flying around.
This coach has no idea what’s really going on in the White House. He only likes to spew lies about President Trump just like every other armchair President wannabe.
Does politics belong in professional sports press conferences? We believe it doesn’t. Stick to the game and what you know. Don’t spew political talking points for crying out loud. Popovich only makes himself look like a bitter man who can’t get over the election.
