Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that his government could provide a transcript of the exchange between Russia’s foreign minister Sergey Lavrov and President Donald Trump to prove that Trump did not reveal any classified information during his meeting with Russian officials at the Oval Office, 100% Fed Up reports.
During a news conference in Sochi, Russia, Putin called allegations that Trump had shared classified intelligence information with Russia as “political schizophrenia.”
“If the U.S. administration finds it necessary, we are ready to provide the record of the conversation between Trump and Lavrov to the Senate and Congress,” Putin told reporters.
Earlier this week, the Washington Post reported that Trump shared intelligence with Lavrov about the threat of ISIS using laptop computers on airplanes.
Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, called Putin’s offer “quite amusing.”
Republican Sen. Marco Rubio said on Fox News that said he’s unimpressed with Putin’s offer and wouldn’t put much credibility into Moscow’s notes.
