Donald Rumsfeld shut down “The View” host Joy Behar on Thursday when she suggested that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is the actual winner of the election because she won the popular vote over President Donald Trump by nearly 3 million votes, 100% Fed Up reports.
During a discussion about the election, Rumsfeld said that Trump won over a “good group” of candidates from the Republican Party, which included Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
The former secretary of defense then shifted his attention to Clinton, whom Trump defeated in the general election in an upset fashion.
But Behar did not agree with Rumsfeld’s assertion that the real-estate mogul Trump triumphed over Clinton, a seasoned politician.
Behar noted that Trump only won the electoral vote. “Well, Trump lost by more than three million votes in the popular vote,” she said.
“What counts?” Rumsfeld asked her.
“Well the electoral vote counts,” Behar answered.
“I thought so!” Rumsfeld replied.
Trump handily beat Clinton in the Electoral College by 74 votes, 306-232.
