Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said President Donald Trump is on the right track by making the fight against terrorism a higher priority than addressing climate change, the Gateway Pundit reports.
During an interview on “Fox and Friends” on Sunday, Huckabee said, “He’s trying to change the climate of terrorism because he knows a beheading is still worse than a sunburn.”
His comments came as Trump refuses to give his commitment to the Paris climate change agreement during the G7 summit in Sicily this week.
The president will announce his final decision this week on whether the country will stick or walk away from the Paris climate accords.
Trump’s decision means the U.S. is the only member of the G7 group of rich western economies not to pledge in support to the Paris climate deal, which nearly all countries in the world signed.
Huckabee defended Trump’s position arguing that the deal “puts a greater burden on the United States than anybody else” despite the country is not even the main polluters.
