President Donald Trump Sunday criticized London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, following Saturday night’s terror attacks in Borough Market and on London Bridge that saw seven people were killed and 48 injured, The Daily Caller reports.
Hours after the horrific incident, Trump tweeted: “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!”
Trump was responding to Khan’s statement on Sunday where he said: “Londoners will say an increase police presence today and over the course of the next few days. No reason to be alarmed.”
Following Trump’s tweet, Khan’s spokesman said the London mayor “has more important things to do” than respond to the U.S. president’s “ill-informed” tweet.
But Trump wasn’t done yet. In another tweet, he said, “Do you notice we are not having a gun debate right now? That’s because they used knives and a truck!”
“We must stop being politically correct and get down to the business of security for our people. If we don’t get smart it will only get worse,” Trump added.
