The co-founder of left-wing websites blamed Republicans for the mass shooting incident Wednesday where a Bernie Sanders supporter opened fire at a Republican congressman and House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and his staffers, the Gateway Pundit reports.
Markos Moulitsas, the founder of left-wing blogs Daily Kos and Vox, wrote on Twitter: “Republicans are getting what they want.”
The message links to a previous tweet by Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who quoted Fox News star Judge Napolitano who said, “Why do we have a Second Amendment? It’s not to shoot deer. It’s to shoot at the government when it becomes tyrannical!”
Sen. Paul was among many GOP politicians present at the Virginia baseball field where the shooting occurred.
Moulitas is one of the founders of Vox Media, but later went on to create the far left-wing website, Daily Kos, which published articles that called for sweeping gun control.
The shooter was identified as James T. Hodgkinson, 66, was a fervent opponent of President Donald Trump, and volunteered on Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential bid.
