A vehicle struck pedestrians near a mosque in north London, causing “a number of casualties” early Monday morning, the Gateway Pundit reports.
The police said they’ve arrested one man who drove the van that ploughed into worshipers outside Finsbury Park Mosque, as they finished their Ramadan evening prayers.
The Finsbury Park mosque was known to have fostered Islamic extremism for many years after the 9/11 attacks but was later shut down.
The mosque was reorganized and has not been linked with radical ideology for over a decade.
The Muslim Council of Britain wrote on Twitter: “We have been informed that a van has run over worshippers as they left #FinsburyPark Mosque. Our prayers are with the victims.”
Earlier this month, a van plowed into pedestrians on London Bridge, which began deadly knife attacks that left eight people dead and wounded many others. The three Muslims who carried out the attack were gunned down by police.
