Megyn Kelly’s controversial interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones may have gotten a lot of attention but it ended up not getting as many viewers as she had hoped, 100% Fed Up reports.
The week-long worth of stories about Kelly’s controversial interview with Jones only managed to attract 3.5 million viewers for the Q&A.
The show was easily beaten by rival CBS “60 Minutes,” which was watched by 5.3 million viewers, according to data from Nielsen.
Several advertisers decided to pull their ads from Kelly’s interview, saying that it provided Jones the platform to promote his conspiracy theories.
Among the conspiracy theories Jones promoted was about the Sandy Hook massacre, which he claims was a hoax in an effort to push new gun control laws.
This prompted family members of those who were killed to write a letter to NBC demanding that the network to scrap the airing of the interview.
