President Donald Trump was interrupted in the middle of his speech during a rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as he started praising White House Majority Whip Steve Scalise who is showing further signs of improvement after last week’s shooting in Alexandria, Virginia, the Gateway Pundit reports.
Trump was telling the crowd, “I’d like to also take this moment to send our thoughts and prayers to our courageous friend, somebody that I’ve gotten to know very well — Steve Scalise,” when whistles were heard in the background.
The crowd booed the protesters while Trump stopped his speech and wave them away. “Never fails,” he said.
As the police escorted the protesters out of the arena, the crowd started chanting “USA! USA!”
“And we love our police,” Trump said much to the delight of audience.
Wednesday’s campaign-style rally in Iowa also saw Trump congratulating the GOP candidates for winning their respective races in Georgia and South Carolina on Tuesday.
