Hillary Clinton tweeted on Friday describing the GOP as “the death party” if the Senate Republicans will be successful in passing their healthcare bill, The Daily Caller reports.
The former Democratic presidential candidate wrote: “Forget death panels. If Republicans pass this bill, they’re the death party.”
Her tweet is a response to an article by the liberal advocacy group Center for American Progress and Harvard researchers claiming about 18,000 to 28,000 people could end up dead in 2026 because they will lose coverage as a result of the Republican’s healthcare bill.
Clinton joins former President Barack Obama in criticizing the bill.
On Thursday, Obama wrote on his Facebook page: “It’s a massive transfer of wealth from middle-class and poor families to the richest people in America… It hands enormous tax cuts to the rich and to the drug and insurance industries, paid for by cutting health care for everybody else.”
Five Republicans senators also don’t support the current form of the bill, which was created by Senate Republican leaders behind closed doors.
