Greta Van Susteren’s brief stint in MSNBC comes to an end just less than six months after joining the network, The Daily Caller reports.
Van Susteren took to Twitter on Thursday where she wrote, “I am out at MSNBC.”
Van Susteren’s final appearance in her daily 6 p.m. show will be on Thursday. Ari Melber will permanently replace her and will take over the timeslot next month.
MSNBC President Phil Griffin told staffers in a memo that “MSNBC and Greta Van Susteren have decided to part ways… We are grateful to her and wish her the best.”
Van Susteren’s show failed to perform well in the ratings, in contrast to other MSNBC hosts Lawrence O’Donnell and Rachel Maddow.
She joined MSNBC after a 14-year stint at Fox News, where her departure was also sudden.
