A disgruntled former employee of a New York City hospital opened fire and shot multiple people, killing one of them Friday afternoon, the Gateway Pundit reports.
Sources say that the gunman was Dr. Henry Bello. He used to work at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital as a doctor, according to multiple sources.
Bello was wearing a lab coat and used it to hide an M16 assault rifle. He opened fire on multiple floors at the hospital, killing one woman and injuring five others, the police said.
Fearing for their lives, patients and hospital staff barricaded themselves in their rooms.
As panic swept through the hospital, Bello shot himself on the 17th floor of the building, sources said.
The New York Post reported that there are no state records of a Bello having a medical license, though he is listed as a physician on the hospital’s website.
