United Airlines mistreated a woman passenger traveling with her 27-month old boy after the airline sold the child’s nearly $1,000 plane ticket to a standby customer, 100% Fed Up reports.
Shirley Yamauchi, a mother from Hawaii, was forced to hold the boy on her lap for the entire three-hour flight.
United Airlines requires children more than two years old to have their own seats in the flight but the airline claimed they accidentally oversold the boy’s spot even if they already scanned his ticket.
Yamauchi said the flight attendant did not appear to be interested in addressing her concern and simply told her that the flight is full and just shrugged.
The mother did not want to create a scene anymore given the airline’s recent reputation of treating their customers violently.
In April, passenger David Dao was violently dragged down the aisle after refusing to give up his seat to the airline’s own crew members.
