Most of the memos that former FBI director James Comey wrote during his private conversations with President Donald Trump contain classified information according to officials with knowledge of the documents, the Gateway Pundit reports.
This new information, revealed by The Hill, contradicts Comey’s claim during his testimony in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee last month where he said the information contained in the memos was unclassified.
It would also undermine his criticism of Hillary Clinton about her handling of classified information during and after her tenure as Secretary of State by using a private email server.
Last month, Comey told the senate panel during the Intelligence Committee hearing that he considered the memos to be for personal use and he even shared some of them with his lawyer friend from Columbia University.
But the officials who reviewed the document told The Hill that the FBI has marked four of them as “Confidential” and “Secret.”
If the memos were indeed classified, it means Comey has “violated federal protocols on the handling of classified information,” according to The Daily Mail.
