President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he vows bring the country back to the right direction and make it safe to say “Merry Christmas” once again, 100% Fed Up reports.
In an interview with televangelist Pat Robertson, Trump denounced the treatment he gets from the media and talked about how religious liberty in the country has been under attack under the previous administration.
The president told the Robertson, “We have to bring our country back. Our country was going in the wrong direction.”
“And by the way, what they were doing to religious liberty. They were destroying religious liberty,” he continued.
As a candidate, Trump has condemned the use of “happy holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” and he has continued that stance after he was elected.
President Trump continues to enjoy strong support among Evangelical Christians, which include Robertson who praised the president for nominating Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Robertson is the host of the “700 Club” and the founder of Christian Broadcasting Network.
