President Donald Trump urged Republican senators on Wednesday to not leave Washington without passing a health care plan that will repeal and replace Obamacare, 100% Fed Up reports.
The president also said that any GOP senator who will not support the procedural vote to bring the bill to the Senate floor for debate means they are “fine with Obamacare.”
Trump told lawmakers: “We can repeal it but the best is repeal and replace and let’s get going. I intend to keep my promise and I know you will, too.”
The president’s position is a shift from the comments he made over the past three days, when he said that he would let Obamacare fail.
Trump’s comments come after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s proposal to simply repeal the Affordable Care Act and replace it later immediately collapsed amid loss of support among Republican senators.
That proposal came after four Republicans said they would not support the procedural vote to start the Senate debate on the GOP health care bill in which McConnell could also afford to lose two votes.
