California Rep. Adam Schiff, a ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, urges special counsel on the Russian meddling probe Robert Mueller to investigate the Trump Organization, The Daily Caller reports.
In an interview on CBS “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson on Sunday, Schiff said, “The president is clearly worried that Bob Mueller is going to be looking into allegations, for example, that the Russians may have laundered money through the Trump Organization.”
The Democratic lawmaker believes it’s important to investigate the Trump Organization because the money laundering could sway the president’s U.S. foreign policy in favor of Russia.
“That is really something, in my opinion, that he needs to look at because what concerns me the most is anything that could be held over the president’s head that could influence U.S. policy,” Schiff added.
Schiff is also concerned about by Trump’s threats to fire Mueller, and warned the president not to interfere with the probe.
He is also worried with the worsening relationship between Trump’s and his Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
