President Donald Trump escalated his attacks against Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday, claiming he “has taken a very weak position” on Hillary Clinton and leakers.
In a flurry of tweets, Trump focused his ire once again on his top law enforcer, questioning why he was not doing enough to investigate Mrs. Clinton.
Trump tweeted: “Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!”
In another tweet, the president wrote: “Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump campaign – ‘quietly working to boost Clinton’. So where is the investigation AG.”
In a news conference at the Rose Garden on Tuesday, President Trump said that “time will tell” when asked whether Sessions will continue to stay as attorney general.
“I’m very disappointed with the attorney general, but we will see what happens,” the president said. “Time will tell. Time will tell.”
