Ben Rhodes, former Obama national security adviser, reportedly had a meeting with the House Intelligence Committee Tuesday, the Gateway Pundit reports.
CNN’s Manu Raju took to Twitter on Tuesday saying that the cable network’s chief political analyst Gloria Borger found out that Rhodes met with congressional investigators.
Raju wrote: “Former senior Obama aide Ben Rhodes also met with Senate Intel today, per @GloriaBorger.”
Rhodes has become a person of interest by the Intelligence Committee as some Republicans claim the former Obama White House official may have played a key role in the leaking of classified information from the Trump administration to the media.
Republican Florida Rep. Ron DeSantis, who is not a member of the House intel panel, has alleged that Rhodes was the primary source of the leaks that caused damage to the Trump administration. The lawmaker also urged Trump to fire all holdovers from the Obama administration.
DeSantis said he has spoken with Republican South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, a member of the intelligence panel, about Rhodes’ being in contact with Obama official holdovers in the Trump administration. He also indicated that the panel has brought in some “big names” for questioning.
