White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci wants the FBI to investigate White House chief of staff Reince Preibus for allegedly leaking his financial disclosure, the Gateway Pundit reports.
Scaramucci sent out a vague tweet on Wednesday that appears to be directed to Priebus.
“In light of the leak of my financial disclosure info which is a felony. I will be contacting @FBI and the @TheJusticeDept #swamp @Reince45,” Scaramucci wrote.
That tweet has since been deleted.
Some supporters of President Donald Trump claim that Priebus has been leaking information to the press.
Scaramucci tried to issue a correction and insisted that Priebus was tagged in the tweet because he wanted to show that they share the same objective in clamping down on leakers.
“Wrong! Tweet was public notice to leakers that all Sr Adm officials are helping to end illegal leaks. @Reince45,” he wrote.
But New Yorker’s Washington correspondent Ryan Lizza reported that Scaramucci has already reported Reince to the FBI and wants him investigated over the leak.
