Someone spray-painted the Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday with words that appear like “f*** law” and the National Park Service is scrambling to remove the red-colored graffiti.
Authorities say the defacement happened sometime about 4:30 a.m. EST, although they are yet to identify the perpetrator.
More vandalism was found on a sign for the Smithsonian, this time in silver spray paint and the letters are not legible.
U.S. Park Police have started an investigation, although this is the third time the Lincoln Memorial was vandalized in the last five years.
In a statement, the National Park Services said they’re using a “mild gel-type architectural paint stripper” designed to remove the red paint without damaging the stone.
A spokesman for the agency told The Washington Post that totally removing the letters “will require numerous treatments over a week or two.”
Young Conservatives reports:
Have you seen the video of leftists in North Carolina tearing down a Confederate statue then kicking, punching, spitting on, and flipping it off?
Like, it’s a statue, dummies. It’s not going to fight back and you’re only going to end up hurting yourselves.
