New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez accused President Donald Trump and conservatives of supporting white supremacists following the president’s decision to rescind the DACA program.
The Democrat lawmaker cited Trump’s racial bias as his motive in ending the amnesty program created during the Obama administration. He even called him a racist bigot.
In an issued statement, Menendez said, “President Trump promised to do right by our nation’s DREAMers, but with this decision he has chosen once again to cloak his presidency with a white nationalist flaginstead of the diverse fabric of our multicultural American society.”
He also attacked conservatives for their opposition to the DACA. “I refuse to let its (DACA) beneficiaries be further victimized in the name of nativist fear mongering,” he continued.
He then urges congressional Republicans to approve the DREAM Act, without any strings attached, similar to the immigration reforms being advanced by Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton in the RAISE Act.
Unfortunately for the New Jersey senator, he is currently facing federal corruption trial and Republicans have already started to move for his removal from the Senate if he’s convicted.
Allen B. West reports:
Scandal may be just the card that will cause Robert Menendez to be 86’d from the U.S. Congress where he has represented New Jersey (in the House and Senate) since 1993, but that hasn’t stopped him from attempting to play the race card at least a few more times.
