Miss Texas Margana Wood didn’t hold back with her disagreement with President Donald Trump’s comments about the violence in Charlottesville last month, Gateway Pundit reports.
Wood, 22, was on stage during the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City Sunday night when one of the judges asked how she felt about President Trump’s comments that there were “very fine people on both sides” during the protests.
“I think that the white supremacist issue, it was very obvious that it was a terrorist attack,” she responded.
“And I think that President Donald Trump should’ve made a statement earlier addressing the fact, and in making sure all Americans feel safe in this country. That is the number one issue right now,” Wood added.
Her answer was greeted with cheers and applause from the crowd, and she also received quite a bit of support on social media for her response.
Days following the Charlottesville incident, the president told reporters “You have some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people on both sides.”
