Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte asked the country’s human rights chief if he was a pedophile as he seems to be concerned with the killings of teenagers in his government’s brutal war on drugs, Infowars reports.
“This Gascon he is like a pedophile, son of a b***h. Why are you so fond of teenagers?” Duterte said referring to the Commission of Human Rights (CHR) chairman Chito Gascon.
“Why are you smitten with teenagers? Are you? I‘m having my doubts. Are you gay or a pedophile?,” he added.
The former Davao City mayor accused the CHR chief of being the political pawn of the opposition party and other critics who want him removed as president.
Duterte, who has repeatedly clashed with the agency over his anti-drugs campaign, also asked Congress to use the 678 million pesos budget for the CHR to purchase equipment for the police instead.
The CHR submitted a budget request of 1.72 billion pesos for 2018, but Congress only approved 678 million. Duterte’s allies in the lower chamber even allocated just 1,000 pesos ($20) for the agency in retaliation for its investigation of the drug-related killings.
