During “The Mother of all Rallies” in Washington DC on Monday, pro-Trump supporters and Black Lives Matter protesters were briefly brought together in solidarity in support for America’s cherished freedom of speech, Conservative Tribune reports.
Expectedly, tensions rose when Black Lives Matter activists arrived where a large group of Trump supporters were holding their rally in the nation’s capital.
Chants of “U-S-A, U-S-A, you don’t like it, get out” could be heard among the president’s supporters who were wearing Make America Great Again caps. The opposing group were also heard shouting “Black Lives Matter, Black Lives Matter.”
Then the unthinkable happened. Tommy Gunn, the head organizer of the pro-Trump rally, invited Black Lives Matter leader Hank Newsome to come on the stage.
Gunn told the crowd that he will give the BLM leader two minutes to speak. After his speech, the crowd chanted “All Lives Matter” in a moving display of unity.
Newsome said, “You are so right, my brother, you are so right. All lives matter, right? But when a black life is lost, we get no justice. That is why we say black lives matter.”
