A Sudanese man wearing a mask attacked a Tennessee church and opened fire on seven people, killing one, before he was subdued, Gateway Pundit reports.
Emanuel Kidega Samson, an immigrant from Sudan, walked down the aisle and started shooting at the churchgoers at Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch, according to witnesses.
The 25-year-old gunman shot and killed one woman, identified as Melanie Smith. The suspect was eventually subdued by an usher and in the process mistakenly shot himself.
Authorities were able to recover a shotgun and another pistol from the vehicle of Samson, who was later hospitalized for gunshot wounds before he was released to law enforcement officers.
Samson was charged with felony homicide and was jailed without bond, according to police.
Before his Facebook account was taken down, it shows Samson originally hails from Khartoum, Sudan and is a legal U.S. resident since the 1990s.
