A 93-year-old woman from the United Kingdom, who suffers from dementia, was also the victim of theft in 2015.
According to reports, Sara Hodge, 49, who was supposed to be caring for the woman, decided to steal from her.
A secret camera was installed by the victim’s daughter. Eventually, it caught Hodge stealing cash from the elderly woman’s handbag, just feet away from her. The camera also caught Hodge using her foot to drag the handbag out from under the victim’s chair and putting on a rubber glove to crab the cash out of the purse.
As this happened, Hodge could be heard asking the patient “how she was feeling.”
The stolen money totaled $62 and was supposed to be used to buy the elderly woman lunch and a haircut.
“To know that someone had come into my mother’s house to look after her but actually rip her off was so upsetting,” the daughter said. “It made me feel sick. My (mom) would have no idea it was missing.”
The victim’s daughter said Hodge was in a “position of trust” and what she did was unforgivable.
