President Donald Trump quietly approved a disaster relief plan on Sunday that will help several counties in California cope with floods, mudslides, and other damage.
Trump announced that several areas in the state were now disaster areas and ordered additional funding to help state, tribal, and local recovery efforts damaged by severe weather that occurred between Feb. 1 and Feb. 23.
According to reports, around $500 million will be made available, including an additional $274 million that will be used to repair damage done to the Oroville Dam spillway.
Conservative Tribune reports:
Gov. Jerry Brown appealed to the president for the funding in February, noting that the widespread impact from flood waters included damage to public infrastructure.
The Bee reported that the appeal was made in “trepidation” because of Trump’s previous threat to cut federal funding from “sanctuary cities” in the state, but added that the president came through on the requests. This despite the leftists in California continuing their movement to resist Trump at every turn and even impeach him.
Liberals may hate Trump, but he cares about this country and will ensure that all states are treated equally, regardless of the demographics of their population.
