President Donald Trump may be the first Trump to win a political seat, but his son Donald Trump Jr. is set to follow in his foot steps.
Earlier in the week, Donald Jr. announced that he plans to run for office one day and that he will start by trying to win a governor position.
Rather than set his ambitions low and aim for a Senate or House position, Donald Jr. wants to become the next governor of New York.
Page Six reports:
Don Jr. spoke to members of the F6 Labs gun club in Hicksville, NY, and, when asked about his political ambitions, said he would love to follow his father, President Donald Trump, into office.
A guest at Tuesday’s meeting told Page Six, “Don Jr. said he is interested in running for office, such as governor of New York, but the position of mayor of New York would be less interesting to him.”
Don Jr. added that he didn’t want to be one of 100 Senators, nor a member of Congress.
He suggested that he became infected by politics by working on his father’s campaign.
“Do I want to be behind the scenes and be a mouthpiece and fight back against crazy liberal media? Maybe. Going back to doing deals is boring after 18 months. The politics bug bit me.”
While it is too soon for him to run for president, if he is anything like his father, the United States would be lucky to have him as a future president. The beauty of American politics is that you don’t have to be a career politician to get elected. Trump himself never dabbled in politics and he is now the president of the country.
