President Donald Trump now finds himself cleaning up another Obama administration mess.
On Thursday night, Trump authorized a 50 Tomahawk missile strike in Syria, targeting an airbase and other strategic targets.
U.S. warships in the Mediterranean Sea launched the missiles in order to combat President Bashar al-Assad and his use of banned chemical weapons on his own people.
Remember when this clown lied about Syria not having chemical weapons?
The Trump administration notified Russia about the missile strike in order to minimize the diplomatic fallout from such actions.
“All the responsibility… will be on shoulders of those who initiated such doubtful and tragic enterprise,” Vladimir Safronkov said in response to the missile strike.
Trump sympathized with the Syrians and the way they have been treated by Assad.
“I think what Assad did is terrible. I think what happened in Syria is a disgrace to humanity and he’s there, and I guess he’s running things, so something should happen.”
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson criticized Assad and said the U.S. would take the necessary steps to solve the issue.
“Assad’s role in the future is uncertain and with the acts that he has taken, it would seem that there would be no role for him to govern the Syrian people.
“We are considering an appropriate response (to the) violations of all previous UN resolutions, violations of international norms.”
