Sen. John McCain tried to accuse President Donald Trump of being the main reason why Syrian President Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons against his own people.
McCain blamed Trump for the chemical attack, saying his rhetoric was “partially to blame.”
“I think it was partially to blame,” he told CBS’s John Dickerson.
Despite blaming Trump for the chemical attack, McCain appeared to support his decision to launch a missile strike against Assad’s regime.
“Taking this action I support and was important.”
McCain also called out Secretary of State Rex Tillerson for talking about the Trump administration’s plan to destroy ISIS.
Here is what Tillerson told CBS:
“We believe that the first priority is the defeat of ISIS. That by defeating ISIS and removing their caliphate from their control, we’ve now eliminated at least — or minimized a particular threat not just to the United States, but to the whole stability in the region.”
“And once the ISIS threat has been reduced or eliminated, I think we can turn our attention directly to stabilizing the situation in Syria. We’re hopeful that we can prevent a continuation of the civil war and that we can bring the parties to the table to begin the process of political discussions.”
McCain needs to retire already. He no longer has any credibility and he continuously opposes his own party for no reason at all.
