President Donald Trump is already following through on his promise to crack down on Muslim migrants in the United States.
The Trump administration is now planning to deport 4,000 Somali migrants from the country.
“We learned through immigration sources that the total number of the Somalis that are in the books of (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to be removed are close to 4,000,” Awad said in a Saturday interview with VOA’s Somali service. “Most of them are not in detention centers.”
The deported Somali nationals will be sent to Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.
Around 300 are scheduled to be sent back in the next few months, but that is already more than the 170 Somali nationals that former President Barack Obama sent back during his time as president.
“As of April 1, 388 Somali nationals are being held in ICE detention, while a total of 4,801 Somali nationals have been given their final orders of removal; the vast majority of these are undetained,” Newsweek reported.
Trump continues to show the American people that he is accountable and that he will follow through on his promises. We must stop accepting Muslim migrants in the U.S. until we fix our own domestic issues and defeat ISIS. Until then, it is far too risky to accept these individuals as they may be working for ISIS.
