A British man was shocked to find 5 gold bars in a tank he recently purchased off of eBay.
Nick Mead is a hobbyist, but he doesn’t collect action figures, guns, or comic books. Instead, he collects actual army tanks.
Mead was scouring eBay when he saw an ex-Iraqi army Type 69 tank for sale on eBay. After winning the bid, he was excited for it to get shipped to him.
However, when the tank arrived, he couldn’t believe what he found inside. Hidden in the main crew bay was $2 million worth of gold.
It is believed the gold stems from the 1990 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, where more than 3,200 gold bars were stolen and later returned.
Mead, being the honest person that he is, decided to call the police.
“We didn’t know what to do. You can’t exactly take five gold bullion bars down to Cash Converters without questions being asked, so we called the police,” he said, according to the U.K. Sun.
What a lucky find for him. Not only did he get a badass tank, but he found $2 million worth of gold bars as well? Some people are just born lucky.
