Democrats will often try to spin losses into symbolic victories. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was having none of that on Wednesday when he absolutely destroyed the Democrats.
Democrat Jon Ossoff went into Tuesday night’s special election to replace Rep. Tom Price after he vacated the position to lead the Department of Health.
Little did Ossoff know, he wouldn’t achieve the easy victory he thought he would.
The liberal media even called Ossoff the “Trump-slayer.”
However, despite spending nearly $8.3 million in the race, he failed to secure the House seat and will now take part in a runoff election.
He will now square off against Republican Karen Handel in a June runoff election, which FiveThirtyEight says he has a 50-50 chance of winning.
Spicer commented on the outcome on Wednesday, saying it was strange how the liberal media was portraying it.
“I thought that some of the coverage was a little intriguing as I watched it,” Spicer said.
“The Democrats went all in on this race. They spent over $8.3 million. They said on the record that their goal was to win this race. They lost.
“And the reaction has somewhat been, you know, that they almost won,” he continued. “No. They lost. They made very clear what their goal was in this race. They spent $8.3 million and threw everything including the kitchen sink at it and lost.”
