Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis invited all 100 US Senators to meet at the White House for a special briefing on North Korea.
The meeting was scheduled to take place around 3:00 pm on April 24.
For weeks, tensions between the United States and North Korea have been escalating after North Korea threatened the West and even tried to test a new nuclear missile.
The Gateway Pundit reports:
Despite Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s recent calls for Trump to exercise restraint in dealing with North Korea, President Trump has lately pointed directly to the UN Security Council, suggesting that the body should be prepared to issue new sanctions on the country.
If anything, the Administration’s efforts at containing the reckless ambitions of North Korea’s despotic “supreme leader,” Kim Jong-un, appear well-coordinated and on point, suggesting a close and effective working relationship in international matters between Trump and his most senior staff. For his part, Vice President Mike Pence said on Saturday that the Nimitz-class supercarrier USS Carl Vinson would arrive in the area within “a matter of days.”
President Donald Trump has made it clear that he is willing to challenge the North Koreans if they continue to push forward with such a reckless foreign policy.
For too many years, former President Barack Obama was weak and failed to challenge the North Koreans.
However, Trump is more than willing to show the North Koreans that there are consequences for acting aggressively, and this massive meeting suggests that a conflict may soon take place.
