The Trump administration is now considering a massive military preparation in order to deal with the aggressive North Koreans.
According to a top aide, preparations are “underway” and President Donald Trump is pursuing an “integrated effort.”
“What you’ve seen is really an integrated effort to prioritize diplomatic and informational aspects of national power, but also what you’ll see soon is using the economic dimension of national power as well as the military preparations that are underway,” the official said.
Conservative Tribune reports:
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, declined to give additional details about what “military preparations” entailed, adding that President Donald Trump had a “broad range of options” to remove the threat that the North poses, the New York Daily News reported. He added that those options included increasing sanctions by working with American allies.
The announcement came as news broke of the president holding a rare briefing with senators about the volatile situation regarding the rogue nation.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of defense James Mattis released a statement on Wednesday condemning the North Koreans as “an urgent national security threat and top foreign policy priority.”
“Past efforts have failed to halt North Korea’s unlawful weapons programs and nuclear and ballistic missile tests,” the statement said. “With each provocation, North Korea jeopardizes stability in Northeast Asia and poses a growing threat to our allies and the U.S. homeland.”
It appears that we may be past the point of no return and that a conflict with the North Koreans will take place sooner, rather than later.
