A twisted mother from Nevada decided to fake the death of her 10-year-old son in order to raise money.
Victoria Morrison, 31, was arrested on Friday after it was discovered that she faked the death of her son to cash in on people’s kindness through GoFundMe.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation and eventually determined that the boy was still alive after Morrison’s spouse said he was.
Morrison claimed that her son had died of leukemia a few days earlier and had been cremated. She also blamed a friend for setting up the GoFundMe page.
Conservative Tribune reports:
Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong told KOLO the boy had been diagnosed with a treatable childhood illness over a year ago, but the Morrisons used the illness to convince the boy, the schools and the public that he was terminally ill.
In fact, the boy had been profiled by local news outlet KOLO during the Christmas season when the boy got a Care Flight helicopter ride as a gift.
The Mercury News reported that the child had not attended school for months and that Morrison was keeping him in the hotel after she announced his death.
Morrison has since been charged with obtaining money under false pretenses and child neglect. She is being held at the Carson City Jail on burglary and obstruction charges and her bail was set at $20,000.
The fake GoFundMe account ended up collecting around $2,000 before it was closed down by the company.
Morrison is a terrible human and a horrible parent. Share this story on social media and leave a comment below.
