Thousands of Edmonton Oiler’s fans honored the United States on Sunday by singing the U.S. national anthem after the anthem singer’s microphone malfunctioned.
For those of you who do not know, the NHL playoffs are underway and the Edmonton Oilers are battling it out with the Anaheim Ducks.
Instead of booing the national anthem like some sports fans do, the classy Oiler’s fans decided to fill in for the broken microphone and the results were magical.
Hockey fans are something special.
People often say that sports divide people, but it is pretty clear that they bring people together. The Oiler’s fans didn’t have to sing the anthem of the rival team, yet they did it anyways because they wanted to show their opponents that they still respected them.
