President Donald Trump decided to stiff the White House Correspondents Association by not showing up to this year’s White House Correspondent’s Dinner.
Instead, Trump held a campaign-style rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
According to reports, the crowd at the rally was massive and Trump thoroughly enjoyed speaking to his supporters.
At one point during the rally, Trump couldn’t help but smile after the crowd repeatedly chanted, “CNN Sucks!”
Trump took the opportunity to talk about the media and how unfairly they have treated him and his supporters.
“A large group of Hollywood actors and Washington media are consoling each other in a hotel ballroom in our nation’s capital right now,” he said. “They are gathered together for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner without the president.”
He continued: “And I could not possibly be more thrilled than to be 100 miles away from Washington’s swamp, spending my evening with all of you and with a much, much larger crowd and much better people.”
Thanks to Trump, the majority of Americans now know the truth about CNN and how they peddle fake news.
The fact that Trump skipped an important event in Washington to be with his supporters shows how much he cares about the average American citizen.
