Remember when former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton battled it out in 2008? Watching the Democratic Party cannibalize itself was a thing of beauty.
While they eventually made up, Obama and Clinton never seemed to get along after he humiliated her in 2008.
In a recent discussion panel at the University of Chicago, Obama criticized Clinton for using the term “super predator.”
The term was made infamous by Clinton in 1996 when she was describing black youth who were involved in crime. She later apologized for the comment when running for president in 2016.
“What was striking when you sat down with (young black men) was they are young people,” Obama continued. “If you had listened to them talking, you would recognize them as not that different from any other young man 18 to 24. What was different was their circumstances.”
“You would have come away not saying, ‘These are some thugs or super predators that I can’t relate to,’” the former president said.
“They are often the kinds of kids that are called ‘super-predators,’” Clinton said two decades ago while describing young criminals. “No conscience, no empathy. We can talk about why they ended up that way, but first we have to bring them to heel.”
Obama may be a fool himself, but anyone who criticizes Clinton, no matter how bad they are, can have a temporary pass in my books.
