The French election is set to conclude on Sunday when the country votes in its next president.
Marine LePen and Emmanuel Macron are battling it out to win the honor.
However, as the election nears, Macron has resorted to petty name calling in order to try and hurt the chances of his opponent.
In a recent interview, Macron borrowed a play from Hillary Clinton’s playbook when he essentially called LePen’s supporters “deplorables.”
He called them the “anti-France party” and suggested that they were nothing but “fearmongerers” and “extremists.”
“They’re here. It’s they. It’s they who are our true enemies,” declared Mr. Macron.
“Powerful, organized, skillful, determined,” he said: “You pass them in the streets, in the countryside or on the web, most often well hidden. As hateful as they are cowardly. You know them. The party of the agents of the disaster, the fearmongerers. The French far-right. It’s here.”
If history has taught us anything, Macron is now guaranteed to lose the election. Any time you call millions of people “deplorable” you are bound to lose because it shows that you do not understand the needs of your people.
