CNN, the biggest fake news network in the United States, admitted earlier in the week that the Democratic Party lied to the American people when it passed the Affordable Care Act.
Democratic Rep. Steve Israel appeared on CNN, where he talked about the AHCA with Jake Tapper.
“(T)he way that … the Affordable Health Care Act, the way that that was sold to the American people was, in many ways, mendacious,” he said, according to Breitbart. “They were told, if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your plan, you can keep your plan.”
“That’s not true, and it’s just empirically evident out there that insurance companies are leaving Obamacare exchanges, leaving voters, consumers, with fewer options, not greater options,” he added. Listen:
In this case, Tapper was absolutely right. Even Politifact admitted that former President Barack Obama lied to the American people when he said that they could keep their healthcare plans if they liked it.
Conservative Tribune reports:
And therein lay one of the many reasons Republicans moved forward last week with replacing this disastrous law. Moreover, and this is key, “(u)nlike Obamacare, the GOP health bill wasn’t built on lies and false promises,” as noted by Investor’s Business Daily.
Put simply, the AHCA is a viable replacement bill built on actual truths, some of them even slightly inconvenient — such as the fact that it “provides refundable tax credits to buy health insurance, which amounts to a new entitlement program,” according to The Daily Wire.
But for every inconvenient truth — none of which were being denied by Republicans the way President Barack Obama shamelessly denied the truth about his atrocious health care law — there were a bevy of beneficial truths: The AHCA would reform Medicaid, eliminate most Obamacare taxes and give states the right to opt out of preexisting-conditions regulations, to name a few.
The result is an admittedly imperfect health care bill that is nonetheless 100 times better than its predecessor. And that’s not an opinion — it’s a fact.
Thank God we have almost rid ourselves of Obamacare.
