Alzheimer’s is an extremely tough disease to cope with, but one man made the best of what he had and managed to share a beautiful moment with his mother who is suffering from it.
Kelly Ridings managed to capture an amazing moment with his mother recently, in which the two managed to play and sing a song together.
“Mom is 88 now,” Ridings wrote. “She’s in assisted living and has Alzheimer’s but she can still play and sing better than anyone in my eyes. I realized while I was singing with her tonight, I had never videoed us singing together, so I captured a couple of songs for posterity. Most days I miss her, but she always comes back to me when we sing.”
Social media users loved the song and praised Riding’s mother.
“You are going to be so happy that you videoed the two of you together,” Barbara Mepham-Cervantes wrote. “This is wonderful.”
“So beautiful,” Tony and Darryl Dale said. “Absolutely wonderful of you to be able to capture this and both ‘be’ together. Bless!”
“First of all, thank you all so much for such an overwhelming response,” Ridings said. “My Facebook feed has taken on a life of its own.”
“I will add more (videos) as I can,” he added. “God bless you all. I’m so touched by all of your stories. Alzheimer’s is the worst disease I can imagine. I hope these videos have offered you all some comfort.”
This is a very sweet moment and one that Ridings will never forget.
