Pope Francis and President Donald Trump aren’t the best of friends, but apparently the Pope thinks he is capable of discussing military matters.
Francis recently criticized Trump for deploying the “Mother of all Bombs.”
“I was ashamed when I heard the name,” Pope Francis said on Saturday. “A mother gives life and this one gives death, and we call this device a mother. What is happening?”
Rather than focusing on poverty, hunger, or the fact that the Catholic church is rampant with pedophiles, the Pope decided to go after Trump.
Conservative Tribune reports:
The BBC noted that the pope is set to meet with Trump on May 24 in what will be their first face-to-face meeting, one that could get very awkward.
The pope hasn’t been shy about criticizing Trump’s policies. The Washington Times noted that the relationship between the two went sour when in February 2016 the Pope implied that Trump might not be Christian because of his stance on building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Instead of criticizing a piece of hardware, the pope should spend more time criticizing those who are slaughtering thousands of women and children in the Middle East and justifying their actions by citing Islam.
The pope should know better than anyone that there is evil in this world, and sometimes there is no negotiating with evil. We have to take decisive action to defend ourselves and wipe out this evil.
Francis has done a lot of good for the Catholic faith, and to date, he has been a much better Pope than his predecessor, but there are some topics that are best left to the professionals and this is one of them.
