Former President Barack Obama is upset that his legacy has been completely undone by President Donald Trump.
In a recent speech, Obama cried about his two terms in office and suggested that the United States was in a bad spot under Trump’s leadership.
Obama spoke at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston on Sunday, where he accepted the Profile in Courage Award.
“I hope that current members of Congress recall that it actually doesn’t take a lot of courage to aid those who are already powerful … but it does require some courage to champion the vulnerable and the sick and the infirm and those who often have no access to the corridors of power,” Obama said, according to a Time magazine transcript.
Obama also said that he hoped that “such courage is still possible, that today’s members of Congress, regardless of party, are willing to look at the facts and speak the truth, even when it contradicts party positions.”
Obama also criticized House Republicans, saying that they need to do what “is right” instead of what is “politically expedient.”
