President Donald Trump made it clear when he was elected that he would quickly abandon the Paris Accords.
However, on Tuesday morning, former Vice President Al Gore begged Trump to stay in them.
According to reports, Gore called Trump and asked him to reconsider his stance on “climate change.”
“Mr. Gore made the case for why the U.S. should stay in the agreement and meet our commitments,” the source said according to Axios.
Conservative Tribune reports:
Here we have President Trump, a man famed for negotiation and, well, winning — and another man, Gore, who is really a joke and has been for quite some time.
On the bright side, negotiation is something of a lost art among Democrats right now. Regardless of whether Trump abandons or remains with the Paris climate accord, this is the first time in a long time we’ve seen a prominent liberal come to Trump and try to work a deal.
On the other hand, the liberal in question is Al Gore — who hasn’t been right about anything since he called George W. Bush to concede the presidential 2000 election and then called again and took it back. The chances that a guy like that is going to convince Trump of anything are somewhere between slim and none.
Still, it could be a small sign that Democrats are accepting the new normal. They lost the election presidency, just like Gore did in 2000, and now they to talk with the president in the Whites House, not scream.
Climate change is one of the biggest scams in the 21st century. Every year, liberals cry about the weather, but historical data always proves their arguments wrong. Being environmentally friendly isn’t a bad thing, but not when it makes the United States noncompetitive against China and the rest of the world, who don’t play by the same rules.
Where do you stand on climate change? Should Trump stay in the Paris Accords, or should we pull out?
