While brave American soldiers risk their lives to take on ISIS, Turkey continues to whine from the sidelines, complaining about the progress we’ve been making against the terrorist group.
Now, Turkey has “lost their patience” with the United States after President Donald Trump said that he would start arming the Kurdish YPG.
Trump identified that the YPG is a valuable ally in the fight against ISIS.
Conservative Tribune reports:
The Kurds have been essential in the battle against the terrorist organization. As the Conservative Tribune previously reported, “The Kurds have been among the most effective and reliable ground forces since the U.S.-led international coalition launched its air war against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria in 2014.”
But, as Breitbart explains, Turkey sees YPG as an offshoot of Kurdistan Workers’ Party, the PKK), which is a Marxist group dedicated to the ideal of an independent Kurdistan.
The PKK is regarded as a terrorist organization by not only Turkey, but both the United States and the European Union, according to the Anadolu Agency, an international news agency headquartered in Turkey.
“We would like to believe that our allies will prefer to side with us and not with terrorist organizations,” Edrogan said at a news conference on Wednesday, the Andalou Agency reported.
“I believe that these meetings will ensure the stability of the region and will lead us to reach a conclusion compatible with the realities of Syria,” he said at the news conference.
Erdogan continues to show why Turkey is one of the most useless allies we have near the Middle East. They continue to damage our positions, they do not care about taking out ISIS, and they complain when we make moves that will result in a more peaceful Middle East for all countries in the region.
