A Memphis ban was reported dead on Wednesday after he livestreamed his suicide on Facebook Live.
Jared McLemore, 33, doused himself in kerosene and proceeded to light himself on fire while streaming the entire event on Facebook Live.
According to McLemore’s girlfriend, Kimberly Koehler, McLemore murmured “goodbye” and rubbed his kerosene soaked arm against her chest.
Not long after, he doused himself in more kerosene and lit himself on fire.
The Sun UK reports:
Jim Duckworth, a musician who had just played at the bar, told WREG-TV: “This overwhelming smell of kerosene filled the room.
“Before you see anything, the smell filled the room.”
Jim’s girlfriend Kimberly Koehler said: “There were some people who thought that it was a joke.
“Jared approached Alyssa and mumbled something about ‘goodbye,’ then grabbed her arm and wiped it on his chest to show he was covered in kerosene.”
The shocking video can be seen here.
As it turns out, McLemore wasn’t a stable person. He had reportedly tried to beat his girlfriend in the past and suffered from mental health issues.
What do you think about this shocking video? Should Facebook crack down and work harder to stop these kinds of things from happening?
