The United States is suffering from a massive illegal immigration problem. Every day, illegal immigrants flood into our country from our southern borders.
President Donald Trump campaigned on the promise that he would crack down on illegal immigration.
According to reports, security staff at the Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, were shocked when they discovered that an illegal immigrant had illegally entered the base on Monday.
Conservative Tribune reports:
Hugo Mejia was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as he and another illegal went through base security on their way to a construction job at David Grant Medical Center, a hospital on the base.
Mercury News reported that when Mejia and his fellow illegal, Rodrigo Nuñez, gave their information to base security, it was immediately flagged, partly because neither men had social security numbers. ICE was then called in to detain them.
“As part of normal protocol, Security Forces personnel entered the individuals’ information into the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System, which identified them as undocumented immigrants,” a spokeswoman for the base said.
Mejia claims that he didn’t know that the construction job was on a military base.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Mejia has no criminal record, but that he does have “removal orders” that date back nearly a decade ago.
At this point, a judge will decide whether Mejia and his coworker should be deported.
