Three months ago, Arkansas’ House Judiciary Committee approved a bill that disallowed Shariah law in the state by declaring “American laws for American courts.”
While many liberals states continue to bend over to Muslims, allowing them to use their barbaric and outdated laws in our courts, in an effort to be “tolerant,” Arkansas took a different stand and decided to defend American interests.
The original bill was filed last December by state Rep. Brandt Smith with Shariah law as the major focus of the bill.
Conservative Tribune reports:
According to the Arkansas Times, opponents argued that “the bill would affect ID cards issued by consulates to foreign nationals,” “create headaches for international business transactions in the state” and target Muslims.
In defense of his bill, Smith reportedly maintained that the law would protect new immigrants by ensuring that “when they set foot on American soil, they literally will be protected by the same rights and privileges that protect you and me.”
Truth be told, the bill was neither anti-Muslim nor anti-immigrant; it was pro-American, though in this politically correct day and age such a mentality is often viewed as a faux pas.
Arkansas lawmakers argued that the bill was designed to protect Americans and new immigrants from oppressive laws.
“The imported practice of genital mutilation can segregate hundreds of thousands of American girls from their peers in mainstream American society, say two New York psychologists,” Breitbart reported last month.
